(Visit High School in Jakarta)

I am spending my free time these days because it is an interterm from the end of December to the beginning of February.

It was an interesting experience that I unofficially visited high school in Jakarta.

My friend graduated from this school, and I participated in the language club instructed by him.

All high school buildings in Indonesia are painted such green.

Japanese Anime is very popular even here.

In order to keep up with university students, I watched Japanese popular Anime “Anohi Mita Hana No Namae Wo Bokutachi wa mada Shiranai”(Abbreviation “Ano Hana”), meaning “We have not yet known the name of the flower which we saw that day” at the end of last year. It was helpful to communicate with high school students.

The ending song of this Anime is “Secret base ~Kimi Ga Kuretamono~ (10 years after Ver.)” This song was popular when I was a junior high school student, so I feel nostalgic and remember my sweet memories when I hear this song.

Some of Indonesian high school students know this song, and we sang this song together.

There are many people who are familiar with Japan thanks to Japanese car, electrical products and Anime, and they have favorable impressions to Japan, thus it makes us easy to communicate with them, although we realize it well abroad.

I have met some Indonesians who learn Japanese under the influence of Anime.

In addition, they can study Japanese as second foreign language in Indonesian high school, therefore, there are some Indonesian who speak Japanese a little.

In relation to the above, my friend is dispatched from “Japanese Partners” who sends Japanese teachers to South East Asian Countries, and she teach Japanese in Indonesian high school.

The handsome guy shown in the left end of the above picture is “(Sokorahen) Genki” who is one of “Indonesia Sumimasu Geininn” (meaning, Japanese comedians who live in Indonesia).

I forgot  to take a picture when I met him before, however, I took a photo this time.
